Pranayama: Breathing

 

 

The practice of Pranayama, mindful control of the breath, is the single most important practice!

 

The benefits of pranayama to restoring wellness:

  • Deep diaphragmatic breathing rids the body of gaseous chemicals and brings up to seven more times more oxygen into the lungs

  • Restores vitality, relaxing “wired” people while energizing tired people
  • Empowers by giving a sense of being able to take part in you treatment
  • Deliberate rate of respiration slows a racing heart, sending oxygen to every muscle fiber and organ
  • Increases the ability to concentrate, to listen neutrally without rushing to judgment or fear
  • Supports the process of receiving information in a more balanced, thoughtful way
